SUMMARY:Arctic Science Summit Week 2024
DESCRIPTION:The Arctic Science Summit Week (ASSW) was initiated by IASC in 1999 to provide opportunities for coordination\, cooperation and collaboration between various scientific organizations involved in Arctic research and to economize on travel and time. Over the years\, the summit evolved into the most important annual gathering of the Arctic research organizations. The summit is organized by an International Coordination Group and any organization engaged in supporting and facilitating Arctic research may participate.

SUMMARY:SIOS Polar Night Week
DESCRIPTION:The Polar Night Week is an arena for exchange\, reflection and planning of future activities and creates a vibrant atmosphere in the middle of the beauty of the Polar Night. \nThis annual meeting brings the SIOS community together for science seminars\, working group meetings and plenary discussions. One of the highlights is the release of newest issue of the State of Environmental Science (SESS) report. \nThere is no charge for attending Polar Night Week for SIOS members\, but you will need to cover your own travel and accommodation costs\, as well as meals other than lunch and the conference dinner. If you come from a non-member institution please contact us for details about the participation fee.

DESCRIPTION:We have arranged a NORDQUA members meeting after the end of the sessions at 18:15 on Saturday 15th July. You will find us in room 9\, 2nd floor of the Scienze della Terra building (use entrance Mineralogia).\nWe have invited the INQUA Representatives from the three Nordic countries who currently have representation with INQUA\, and they will give some brief updates about the INQUA Committee activity that is occurring in tandem to the scientific sessions. In case you are not aware the national representatives are as follows:\n\nFinland – Niko Putkinen\, GTK\nNorway – Inger Alsos\, UiT The Arctic University of Norway\, Josten Bakke\, University of Bergen\, and Fredrik Høgaas\, NGU\nSweden – Stefan Wastegaard\, Stockholm University\n\n\nWe will take a members photo and\, for anyone who is interested\, expect to move on to an informal social gathering for some drinks and food afterwards.
