The 2023 NORDQUA excursion will be run in northern Iceland 31st August – 2nd September. All NORDQUA members are most welcome and encouraged to attend!

The excursion is organized in connection with and will directly follow the 4th International PalaeoArc Conference, which will take place in Akureyri, north Iceland, 27-30th August 2023. NORDQUA members are also most welcome to participate in the conference. Abstract submission is already open with a deadline 1st of March. Registration will open mid-February.

A couple of important notes:

  1. Iceland, including Akureyri, is a popular tourist destination. Thus, we strongly encourage those who plan to attend to book their accommodations early. The post-conference NORDQUA excursion will be run as three day trips from Akureyri so that participants don’t need to change accommodation if attending both parts of the joint event.
  2. The timing of the joint event is set to fit the timing of direct flights with Niceair from Copenhagen to Akureyri (27th and 31st August and 3rd September). We recommend those who need connecting flights to consider this option. A round-trip deal at 290EUR is offered through this link: https://cph-aey.niceair.is/

For more information (including travel and accommodation), please visit the webpage for the PalaeoArc conference and the NORDQUA excursion: https://www.palaeoarc-nordqua2023.is/.

Please, spread the word to your colleagues and students.

We look forward to seeing you in Akureyri!
